Title: Bodie
Fandom: The Professionals
Rating: Teen and up
Word Count: 200
Summary: Bodie is planning to leave Africa
Notes: Set pre-series. Written for the favourite character fiesta.
The air outside his room is hot and heavy, the air inside his room even more so. In that moment Bodie realises he has had enough of Africa. After what Krivas did he had torn himself away from the mercenaries, but he hadn't been able to tear himself away from the country, not while his memory of the girl is still so vivid. He can't say her name. It hurts too much. But he sees her everywhere, hears her voice, and he knows he has to leave. Bodie never thought he was the sentimental type but perhaps he is becoming so as he gets older.
He doesn't pack a bag. He has nothing he wants to keep. Not even the memories in his head although they are not so easy to jettison. He goes to the airport and buys a ticket. Soon he will be back in England. He'll have to find a flat, a job, someone to share his bed with. No more adventures for him. It is time for William Philip Andrew Bodie to settle down. Then he remembers one more thing he will need in England and he chuckles. He will almost certainly be needing an umbrella.
